Ryan Manucha is a contributor to the MacDonald Laurier Institute and author of “Booze, Cigarettes, and Constitutional Dust-Ups”  a book about interprovincial trade that won the Donner Prize for best book on Canadian public policy.

Panelists:

  • Tim Sargent.  Dr Tim Sargent is  Senior Fellow and Director of the Domestic Policy Program at the MacDonald-Laurier Institute. He is also a distinguished Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation, a Waterloo based think tank.
  • Carlo Dade. Carlo Dade is one of the country’s leading voices on defending and advancing western Canadian trade interests in Canada and abroad. He leads work on development of a national trade infrastructure plan and renewal of the nation’s trade corridors at the Canada West Foundation.
  • Moderator:  Peter Josty, Executive Director, The Centre for Innovation Studies.

Background:
Canada is facing a productivity crisis and removing the barriers to internal trade could increase productivity by as much as 4-7%. This webinar will explore how these barriers came about, their impact on productivity, and how they might be reduced.
