THECIS BREAKFAST – Calgary

The next THECIS breakfast in Calgary will be with speaker Tom Keenan from the University of Calgary. February 7, 2017

What’s new in cybersecurity?

Cybersecurity is a concern for all of us.  It has been in the news a lot recently, with alleged Russian hacking relating to the US election and reports of millions of credit card numbers being hacked and used for criminal purposes. How safe is your computer?  What would you do if you were hacked?  What about ransomware? How can we best protect ourselves?

Our speaker will be Dr Tom Keenan, a leading expert on cybersecurity. He will also have copies of his latest book “Technocreep” to sign. Professor Keenan is a professor in the Faculty of Environmental Design. He is an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science, Member of the Institute for Security, Privacy and Information Assurance, and a Research Fellow of the Centre for Military and Strategic Studies.

Come and join us to learn the latest news and how to protect yourself and your company.

Doors open at 7:00 am, breakfast will be served at 7:15, followed by our speaker, Q & A, ending at 9:00 am.
