The Course is sponsored by the Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures. The course uses technology provided by the University of Calgary for the distance learning part of the course.
This course is for:
• Ingenuity Scholars, and Fellows
• WestLink Interns
• Southern Alberta Intellectual Property Network members
• Students who will go on to research careers in academic or public research institutions
• Potential entrepreneurs
• Students who will be employed doing science in business, including the management of science and project managers
• Faculty and Staff of colleges amd universities
The course has flexible learning sessions on Elluminate and Blackboard so that it is not in competition with your research or teaching. It is held on two weekends and seven evening on-line sessions.
What will I learn?

• how groups harness and exchange knowledge
• building academia-business interactions
• collaborative technology to enable teamwork at a distance
• making a presentation to experienced porfessionals
• the experience of the innovator
• the experience of your team project colleagues

How much does it cost?
The cost of the course is $1200. The Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures offers a Scholarship to cover the $1000 costs of the course for the accepted applicants. Participants are responsible for a $200 contribution towards the cost of the meals and accommodation at the Field Station. Cheque or Credit Card payment to be arranged upon acceptance to the program.
This course starts with the weekend at the BGS Institute: Barrier Lake Field Station, in dormitory style rooms of 3 people, on November 5th, 2010. Transportation to and from the Barrier Lake Field Station is the responsibility of each participant. Full details will be sent to the applicant winners. A contact list will be posted on the website so car pooling can be arranged between yourselves.
Application Deadline is October 13, 2010. The 35 winning participants will by notified by October 19, 2010.
