GEM Canada 2020
The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor [GEM] is the world’s largest study of entrepreneurship, with 72 countries involved as of October 2019. Canada was absent from GEM for a number of years, but in 2013 returned to the program. THECIS has taken the lead in forming a very strong GEM Canada team with representation from all 10 provinces. The 2013 GEM Canada report was published in April 2014, along with provincial reports for British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland. The GEM Canada 2014 report was published in May 2015, along with Alberta, Ontario, Quebec, and The Woman’s Entrepreneurship Report. We released the GEM Canada 2015 report in May 2016, along with the reports for Alberta, Ontario Quebec and Atlantic Canada. The 2016 report for Canada was released in June 2017, and the Reports for Alberta was issued in September, Quebec was issued October and Ontario in December 2017. GEM Canada women Entrepreneur 2016 was issued in December 2017. The GEM Canada 2018 report has been released in October 2019, along with Quebec and Alberta. GEM Canada Women Entrepreneurship in Alberta 2017/2018 was released in January 2019. GEM Saskatchewan 2019 was released in April 2020.
